Love using bath bombs?  You may just want to try bath truffles to make your next bath more luxurious.  What are bath truffles?  Basically, they  are essentially bath bombs with extra skin-loving oils and butters.  They add more add more hydrating properties to your bath than typical bath bombs.  The Soap Queen recently posted a recipe for Heavenly Lilac Bath Truffles that also includes free printables.

Rose Clay Face Mask DIY

Masks are a wonderful product to use on your face.  The Soap Queen recently posted this recipe for a Rose Clay Face Mask that is suitable for both oily and dry skin.  The property of rose clay not only adds a pink hue to the mask but it also has oil absorbing properties.  This intermediate recipe takes about 30 minutes to complete and yields (4) eight ounce jars.

DIY Rose Under-Eye Serum

The skin under your eyes is extremely thin and delicate.  Would you believe it is one of the first places to show the signs of aging?  So it is a great place to give a little extra TLC.  And how do you do that?  Make this Rose Under-Eye Serum recipe from The Soap Queen.  According to the Soap Queen, this recipe is designed to pamper the under-eye area with a blend of nourishing oils, vitamin E, and evening primrose extract.

Sweet Orange & Calendula Lip Balm

Lip balm is great.  Here is a recipe from The Natural Beauty Workshop called Sweet Orange & Calendula. This recipe has the soothing benefit of calendula and the cheerful scent of sweet orange which comes together in this buttery soft lip balm recipe.  After seeing the picture of the finished product, I really like the lip balm container.  When I make another batch of lip balm, I plan to purchase some.

Easy Bath Bombs (Bath Fizzies) Using a Moon Cake Mold Press

I have made bath bombs with plastic spheres, melt and pour soap mold but I never heard of mold presses.  In this recipe called Easy Bath Bomb (Bath Fizzies) from Lovin Soap, they use mold presses from Moon Cake.  The molds from Moon Cake are like little presses with detailed imprints for cakes. When I saw the picture, they reminded me of cookie presses.

Floral Sugar Lip Scrub DIY

Have you ever used a lip scrub?  It is just like a body scrub but it is especially made for your lips.  Once the dry skin is removed from your lips , it helps with the lip balm to absorb better.  Granulated sugar is the perfect lip exfoliant because it is a lot gentler than salt but is scrub plus it takes good.  To learn more about making a lip scrub, check out this Floral Sugar Lip Scrub recipe from The Soap Queen.

Tips for Soaping in Small Spaces

Are you like me and have a small space for making soap or other body products?  Most of my equipment and some supplies are stored in plastic storage containers.  I keep wishing for space of mine to store supplies out where I can see them.  I love the post from The Soap Queen called Tips for Soaping in Small Spaces.  I wish I had some to build structures like but I do not have someone to do it for or the right space but for right now I have to keep my stuff in storage bins.  One thing I did like for storage was Origami Shelving on HSN.  Like until I have the space to get these,,,it is just a pipe dream.

 Back in December of 2016, a volunteer did a craft workshop on who to make candles with shaped inserts.  I thought it was quite interesting.  So when I saw this Two Tone Cherry Blossom Lip Balm recipe from The Natural Beauty Workshop, I wanted to see how it was done.  It is very similar to what I learned  in the candle workshop and I plan to try this because it looks really fun.

The Lazy Soap Maker’s In-The-Pot Soap Swirl

I would call myself a beginner in the realm of cold process soap making.  But I have to be honest, my first attempt at making cold process soap was doing an In The Post Soap Swirl.  Pretty daring for a first try but I did keep it simple...I used only one color pigment and the base color of the oils which came out a cream white.  For the first try it came out really nice.  To this date I have not tried more colors.  Do not feel ready for that, but if you are then I would recommend Lovin' Soap's The Lazy Soap Maker's In The Pot Soap Swirl.   I found the technique interesting since I normally took out alittle soap batter and combined with the color sand swirled it in.  She does it a completely different way?  For those experienced,,,,would you do it this way?
